Bunch of cheap MP .72 bodies on eBay!

I believe this was discussed on photo.net Leica forum as being scammish.

Gee, d'ya really think? I don't see anything odd about a couple of German users who sell random stuff suddenly moving to HK and selling high-end camera gear cheap; people change careers all the time.

Ah, yeah, sometimes I forget where I am; and this is not photoSIG. Sorry, vizioneer.

There was a thread here as well:

Ebay Hijacked Account Scammer

Everything is exactly the same, except the seller's name. Same cameras, same shill bidders, same verbiage in auctions. People keep clicking on those 'your account is suspended' phishing scam emails and giving away their account information. Then this happens. Sucks.

Best Regards,

Bill Mattocks

That's OK merciful, like I really wtf you think of me. Really.

While we're chatting, what lens did you use in gallery 3 of your site? That's pretty nice.

Thank you.

Nikkor 85/2, 85/2, 1941 Summitar;
85/2; Nikkor 135/3.5; 85/2
85/2, CV 90/3.5, 85/2

Guess the fave lens.

Nice! You're making me lust after a short tele now. Thanks for sharing.

Any time. I keep thinking that I want to try the 90 'Cron, but that badly brassed, marks front and back, ridiculously heavy, long throw lens just keeps cranking them out. All for about $100.

It goes without saying that the "seller" in question is a scam. The account has been hijacked. Just take a look at what the seller has sold in the past.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS GUY AND DO NOT ACCEPT SECOND CHANCE OFFERS.

It is kinda funny that you have Germany ,Hong Kong, and what? Canadian money.....HHHMMMMM?

This guy must be raking in cash right and left... I've seen at least three auctions with the exact same cameras...bunch of m7's, mp's, and a Linhof Technorama.

A lot of people know it's a scam by now, but he still has been selling, and I'll guess he's raking in a couple thou every single time. Eventually something will probablly be done about it, because ever scammed buyer will probablly mean one less customer to Ebay's sellers...but in the meantime, woohoo!

p.s. I should add: at least this scammer has good taste...he's not selling Nikon :D

"please use english to contact with me"
interesting idea...woyuld love to know enough german to send him a few questions in an e-mail:)

How un-Ebay savvy can some people get? Look at the crap this account has been selling before. and now they're selling Leicas!? Sheesh.. There is a reason why ebay scammers are flourishing.. there's a never-ending appetite for too-good-to-believe prices. Although I would think anyone who is in the market for a Leica would be smart enough to see thru this.

Pherdinand...
If you really want to ask this punk some questions in German, PM me, and I'll write them in my non-native but fairly well polished German.

Well I reported it to Ebay. There software is supposed to pick this up. Maybe they quit running it as it terminated some legit auctions. This one is flagrant.
