After about two months of use my M9 developed a 'nonlinear' focusing fault. That means that it focused properly with closest focusing distances but at five meters was back focusing a lot. I sent in M9 with Noctilux and it took almost two months to get it back. I haven't tested it with other lenses but with the Noctilux it seems to focus perfectly now.
Here's few photos I made with the combo in the last couple of days: http://markuspuustinen.com/blog/2010/07/summer-is-here-big-time-so-lets-shoot-some-f1/

Some great shots... Thanks for posting.
Did Leica give you any idea why your M9 developed a focusing fault?

I didn't get any info on that. It went through my dealer who sent it through the importer so I guess the importer got all the papers from it. They had cleaned the sensor as well because there was a small note indicating that.

Hope this is not a recurring issue than. Would hate to have to send the camera in every 2 months for tweaking.

I doubt it's recurring. Maybe the camera was knocked or something. Who knows?
Don't stress over it.

Well, considering my new M9 needs to go in for tweaking two days out of the box is not a great sign. All my lenses focus spot-on except my 75 Cron. And yet the 75 Cron is spot-on on both of my M7s and M8. So it is not the lens. The 75 Cron is out at infinity focus on the M9 and front focusses at near distance. My friends M9 was perfect for four months, and suddenly mid distances went off for both his 50 Lux and 75 Cron. It is now in NJ for adjustment. So needless to say, I am quite concerned about this, particularly if this were to happen during an important trip.

I hope it's not a common problem with the M9s. I'm about to order one.

Question from M8 user and potential M9 owner in the future
Question from M8 user and potential M9 owner in the future
Wonderful shots! The true signature of the Noct shows! Well done.
Now here is my question to you or any other Noct owner with a digital M:
Did you use the M8 before the M9 with the Noctilux, and what differences are you seeing in terms of composition, focus accuracy and sharpness as well as color and tone?
I do not have an M9 yet, and will probably buy a second M8 to hold me over until the M9.2 or M10 comes out.
I like what I am seeing from the M9 and this lens though.

Yikes! I'm almost at my 4th month with my M9. Hopefully, it doesn't break on me

I'm glad your camera is fixed, but the 2-month turn-around time is disgusting.

Shooting back with a 9mm? That's an awfully wide lens ;-)
