This will win no prizes for elegance, but it solved the problem of a missing eyecup and has the added benefits of avoiding scratches on eyeglasses, and making the camera much less attractive to thieves 🙂

Ingredients: two bendy drinking straws, gaffer tape.
Method: cut short ends of bendy straws to required width of eyepiece, insert one end inside the other, bend straws down and trim ends to match height of sides, cut strips of gaffer tape and wrap around straws to make shape; attach.

It works.

Astounding, Lynn. Must have been a real slow day.
Words having failed me, I tried to find an emoticon that could express what I thought, but nothing had enough depth.
I wait with trepidation your next invention.

Thanks Peter, but I think that was the last straw 🙂
