Hi, new here so thought i'd start off helpful.
I've no connection with this guy apart from buying decent gear of him. He is registered as Tuhach on eb*y, find one of his listings and contact him. I beleive you will find him very accommodating.

Hello,
As I know there several photostores, which are selling the used cameras/lenses:

1. Vtoraja linija Vasiljevskogo ostrova (2th line of Vasiljevsky island), 41/13.

2. Fontanka str., 50 (tel.: 315-04-48, 315-96-85) - it's in 1 min. by foot from Nevsky prospekt - the center street of Saint-Petersburg.

3. Nekrasova str., 26 (mostly used FSU stuff).

Hope this helps. And welcome in Saint-Petersburg! :)

I only could come now to check the replies because of work! I'll be there just for few days in work but still i want to get some nice models...

Wish me luck!

Thank you both so much for the help!!!

Hi,

Yesterday I visited the profoto at Neftanka street. Some Kiev and fed. An 6x4.5 iskra a few lenses and that's it. Apart form that the usual second hand japanese stuff you will anywhere in the world. Not very expensive though. Same prices as you pay on Ebay. Film however is a bit cheaper than at home. Also the russians are going digital. I bought the last 5 rolls of Velvia 50:)

Cheers,

Any updates for second hand camera stores in St. Petersburg? Especially looking for a J-9. What kind of prices should I expect? 50 euros? 75 euros?

Also if some one would have any ideas about where to find Russian / Soviet photography books (art/photojournalism) and photomagazines (Ogonyek) in the city I'd be really happy to hear about them out.

And naturally if some of you has some information about ongoing photography exhibitons in the city in late August I'd be happy to hear about them. I'm not even sure is there a photography museum, is there? At least the The Museum of Russian Art didn't have any photographs in their exhibitions last time I visited.
