buying a second and third battery for my X Pro 1

A bit of advice needed from the Fuji gurus, looking to get two spare batteries for my soon to arrive, (hopefully tomorrow), X Pro 1. Have had a cusory lookmon flea bay uk and there are a few around, now l do not want to compromise my Fuji in anyway as it represents a huge investment to me. My question is this do l buy an original Fuji battery or are the batteries, third party, by other suppliers ok. Any help or recommendations greatfully accepted

As an X-Pro1 owner, I have had bad experiences with 3rd party batteries. Main problem was they fit poorly in the battery compartment and seem to hold less of a charge. I might have gotten a bad batch but that was my experience. I work now with 2 Fuji batteries and that works well for me. BTW if you keep your X-Pr01 on OVF you will get 3 times the exposures on a charge. FYI.

Mick, I've used third party batteries in a number of cameras over the years and never had an issue. Many of those I've bought from 7dayshop.com
I currently use third party batts in my Xpro, X100, Sony RX100 and Ricoh GR.

i bought very cheap batteries and they didn't last very long in the camera. not sure if it was the batteries or the camera as i have bought cheap ones before for other cameras and they were fine.

i bought "promaster' batteries, locally, about half price of originals, and they have been excellent, as good as the fujis.

wasabi batteries have a great reputation as well.

I have a trio of original batteries for the Xpro1. Not terribly expensive and 3 seems to be the magic number.
For the x100 my original batteries don't hold well anymore. GaryLH advised the Wasabi batteries and I tried them.
They are pretty much perfect after 4 months of use and, when my Xpro1 batts konk out I will buy a set of Wasabis for that camera too.

Third party batteries can be hit or miss. Steer clear of Ebay (just a personal recommendation) and go with someone like 7dayshop and you're more likely to get some decent non Fuji batteries.

I haven't tried the Wasabis but am more than happy to use 3rd party stuff, just so long as it works.

I have several Fuji branded batteries for the Xpro1. Being that I use the camera for pro work, third party batteries are not the place to save a few dollars, IMO.

I own 3 OEM Fuji batteries and 8 Wasabi batteries. The Wasabis are on Amazon ($12 ea) if you look for em.

As for capacity, no complaints about the Wasabis. I've never done any testing but they seem to work as well as OEM and at $12 a pop, who could complain? As for fitment, haven't had an issue with a single one of the non-OEM batteries fitting in the x pro's compartment; either way if you buy on Amazon, if they didn't fit you could return them I suppose.

Not sure what brand my other battery is but I purchased it from B&H for much less than the OEM one.
It fits the same and lasts just as long as the original one.

I've used the ExPro compats from Amazon UK and frankly they last longer than the Fuji's. Got a pile of them, you'll need that too running any Fuji! 😀

I use Hahnel in my XP1 and Uniross in my X100. Not as cheap as some but less expensive than Fuji originals and work very well.

The Wasabi batteries seem to have sold out on Amazon UK - does anyone know another source, or are the Ex-Pro ones as good?
