with regard to the existing conflict - has anyone had problems with buying any items from the Ukraine....?

supply, item condition, taxes etc

especially to the UK

thanks for input....!

I have had two or three small deliveries to France, similar size to a camera or lens, without problems. I think they arrived in less than two weeks. The only glitch was that for one eBay took the 20% VAT and the post office demanded it too. It was quickly sorted, and to be honest, I have had similar issues with the US and Japan too.

However, if you are after an I61 it’s probably cheaper to source in the UK once postage is taken into account.

Some years ago I bought an Industar 61 from Ukraine but the seller sent two. By the time I'd received them I'd bought a Zorki 4k and had a Jupiter 8 and decided to send at least one industar back. It was a new seller who didn't know that ebay keeps hold of the first few fees for a week or two (I didn't know either), and by the time I'd emailed for the postal address they'd left ebay. I wasn't even going to ask for a refund as the lens I'd bought only cost £11.

Ive bought a jupiter 8 and 61ld all the way to Australia recently, takes a wee while but for me better than ebay global shipping from USA (a month minimum!). Also bought a few fed bodies, after a week the seller messaged me, sorry I'm on military service and my wife can't find one of them, I'll give you a refund. I said no, please keep the money and good luck with this awful war!

I have bought many things from Ukraine -- A refurbished Pentacon 6, P6 lenses, a Helios 58mm f/2 44m-7 (a genuine one, not a Russian fake), etc. Just look for a highly-rated shop (if ebay or etsy) and ask any questions in advance.
