Hello there film enthusiasts,

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a place where I can buy bulk lots, maybe 20 rolls at a go, of film like XP2 in the UK? Or just anywhere that has great deals on film?

I really enjoy using the film but I can't afford to buy more than one roll a week so I can't really stock up when I might need to.

Thanks very much in advance, guys! I know you'll come up with something or feel pity on me and give me a free life time supply of film? eh?

Give these guys a go....

I use them for my business and recreation film
They are so helpful and if i ever order something thats not in stock etc I get a real person get in touch, leave me a phone number (for a real person!!!!) and they are always happy to talk to me.

Couldn't recommend them more

I get all my film from 7dayshop - very low prices, and as they ship from the Channel Islands with your order split into packages valued at less than £18 each (my last shipment of 30 rolls of Kodachrome came in 15 packages of 2 - but only one overall £3.50 postage charge), there's no VAT on the prices. I've been using them for a few years now, and have never had a problem.

Now, where have you lot been hiding these links, all this time? You devils, if only I found these before, could have saved and been in good service.

Well thanks so much all of you, as we speak i'll be reading the sites back to back.

If you're in London, there is a shop in Aldgate East where you'll be able to get film at the same price that you get at 7dayshop. I can't stand buying stuff on the internet....

Sounds to me sevendayshop gets 99% of its earnings from you lot!

chikne - sadly no, i'm not in London, Birmingham here

If I'm ever in the area I will now know to check by, thanks

I've used 7dayshop ever since they started trading. I've bought film, batteries, cameras, memory cards paper, inkjet cartridges and lots more.
Then last October prior to going on holiday I ordered some film. Placed the order, everything confirmed as usual and awaited delivery. 7day are usually pretty fast but I waited 2 weeks and still nothing arrived. Went on site and checked my order status and it said 'awaiting payment'. How can that be if all was confirmed?
e-mailed them 3 times in an attempt to find out what the problem was but got no reply (they don't have a contact phone number). I then wrote them a letter to ask them to cancel the order as it was now too late and expressed my disappointment with their service. I ended up shooting digital on the holiday.
To this day I have had no reply from them. A search on the internet shows many people are disgusted with 7day customer service, mainly the fact it's none existent. I even wrote to Amateur Photographer magazine to ask them to help but had no reply from them either.
So I too am now looking for somwhere else to purchase all my photo needs and will try those you guys have recommended here.
If anyone from 7day reads this then, you've just lost a customer!

Thats a terrible story, kuvvy

I have been messed around with companies before, my only advice would be seeking advice from professionals like consumer advice but i've not really got anywhere that way. Very sorry to hear that but its such a good warning, I might buy a few rolls from them, i'll burn about £20 with them, if thats lost, then so be it.

Thanks again

Very similar experience to mine, I'm afraid. I will be trying the shop in Aldgate East.... now what is it called?

If you need film more quickly than 7dayshop can supply it, Mathers of Lancashire are unbeatable.

Prices are close to 7dayshop prices but if you order before about lunchtime, the stuff usually arrives next day.

You need to phone them and quote the web prices. The service is really excellent.

One thing to watch for with the cheapie suppliers is film that is close to its expiration date, which I've gotten with 7 Day Shop. This has never happened to me using Morco, so now I never shop anywhere else. Good prices too.

I too have had trouble with 7dayshop. They listed some film as in stock (film that I needed, if not urgently, then at least fairly soon). Added to basket, paid, etc, only then to be sent an email later the next day telling me the film is actually out of stock. So, they'll be posting the other item I bought, and then when the film's back in stock they'll post that (and charge me another batch of postage).
Took me about three days to cancel the order. Not fun.

Personally, I'm quite a fan of Firstcall. they may not be the cheapest but they're reliable and post damn fast, I often get things the next day.

kuvvy, wintoid,

That's really odd, I've always had prompt replies to any queries I've sent them.

But I never buy anything from them that I need soonish, sometimes it can take a week for them to dispatch something they say is 'in-stock'.

sweathog - I've had that happen, but they never charged extra P&P when the item did come back in stock.

Eeek - I'm sound like some kind of 7dayshop fanboy, I don't work for them!

I've been using 7dayshop for years. With film, I have had no major problems. Occasionally there is a bit of a delay but usually the stuff arrives within 5-7 days. Once, a film which was advertised as being in stock, wasn't and came a couple of weeks later.

On one occasion, I ordered a 2GB CF card from them - when the package arrived, it had been opened and there was nothing in it! I reported it to the Post Office and then to 7dayshop. It took several emails but eventually I got a replacement from 7dayshop without additional payment.

Sorry to hear about problems mentioned by kuvvy and wintoid.
Sweathog: I have never had to pay for more than one round of P&P per order, no matter how many packages they send out.

Sometimes, they have offers, eg free P &P or half-price P&P.

I'm still using 7dayshop for most of my film needs (and Firstcall for chemistry).

All the best.
