I'm basically lazy, and it's so damn easy. It feels like cheating. For me, digital had to evolve to a certain point before it became interesting. Cameras had to act/feel more like film cameras, and the price had to be much less than the Leica digital cameras, even the epson rd1 was too much for me at the time.

(The digital printing part is probably difficult and still expensive at the high quality end and I haven't delved into that, but the image capture and post processing to share on the net is easy.)

Tomorrow I'm picking up a Beseler 2x3 enlarger, lens, trays, paper for free because it couldn't sell on the local Kijiji. I already have a bunch of enlargers but this one looks better than most of what I have, save for my 4x5 Beseler. I'll still use film for serious important stuff.

Frank, how do you find using the M? Have you tried a Brightline finder on it or wished you had one?

Enquiring minds want to know.

Thanks.

In bright sunlight it is difficult to see the image on the rear screen, even with the brighter screen mode. With a fixed lens (not zoom) an external finder would be very useful. Just yesterday, I found my external finder for the Yashica electro35 wide/tele lens adapters, and tried it on the XM1 but the framelines were not visible on one side in bright light with my wearing glasses, and I have a thumb rest occupying the hotshoe. Maybe I'll remove that and see about using a cv35 or 50 external finder.

yep, same one! you can turn the head to face a wall and print really big!
i sold my complete darkroom, including some fabulous fuji enlarging lenses and a peak focus magnifier for 300 bucks!

You're lucky to have sold it then. They're being given away these days!

Thank you Bill! The CV35 finder shows just a bit more than what is captured. This will work in those sunny instances when the screen is not readable.
