BW film in Canada

Hi,

Anyone knows where is the cheapest place / online store to get Neopan and Tri-X in small quantities (10 - 20 rolls) in Canada?

Have you tried either of these two places? Frugal Photographer ships from both US and Canadian warehouses. I think their Canadian location is in Alberta.

Also Henry's in Toronto has gieven me good service, but I have never purchased film from them.

Nick, where are you located? In Toronto the best walk-in prices I've found are at Downtown Camera (Queen St E near Henrys). They have a website but don't advertise film on it:

Henrys prices are a little higher but not bad and they list film on their website:

I usually buy from Henry's also, especially since I don't live downtown. Henry's prices can also be a little cheaper in store vs online for > 4 rolls. Otherwise, www.vistek.ca is the only online retailer in Canada that offers press pack (50 rolls), brick (20 rolls) and pro-pack (5 rolls).. that I know of anyhow.

www.headshotrentals.com out in Mississauga, Ontario also has press packs, bricks and pro-packs, but only for Tri-x but not Neopan and it doesn't look like they do online orders, but check out their website.

Finally, there's also www.photo-co.com out in Quebec, which also doesn't carry Neopan. If shipping is required anyhow and you're in Ontario, then at least you won't be charged PST.

I'm pretty sure there's a few online retailers in BC & Alberta as well.

I agree with buying locally but in my case nobody carries Fuji B&W in town. There is also a bad attitude here in some stores in that when you ask if there is a discount if you buy a brick over the price per single roll and the answer is no. They wonder why they go out of business!

at least here if you buy over 20 rolls there is a discount.
