Hi all, just a question regarding C-41 development.
A recent batch of C-41 had poor colour cast, all the colours were wonky.
Here's a sample:
Most of the images had this bluish / cyan cast. Very odd. The film was Kodak Portra 400, expiry late 2016.
I'm using Tetenal chemistry, with the following times:
38 degrees Celsius
DEVELOPER: 3'15"
BLEACH: 4'20"
FIX: 6 minutes
RINSE: 2'30"
FLO: 30 seconds
I am always careful with my temps, I make sure things are locked in at 38 deg C, but I am wondering what's wrong.
Could it be my Tetenal chems are getting old? This was a new batch of liquids that I made up -- shouldn't be a problem with overuse.
Of course, I can always correct the colours in post, but it's a PITA and takes much longer than just getting proper negs the first time around. This last batch was so poorly developed I almost wanted to quit developing C-41 altogether.
Is there something I'm missing? Any help would be appreciated.

What's the setup of the scanning?
It looks like the orange mask removal went wrong.

Could be many things but scanning technique is high, but bad chemicals are a deal breaker. Here is a tutorial on scanning C-41 (Colton is a RFF member):

Thanks guys for the feedback -- I'll have to double-check my overall technique.
Strangely, the Portra 400 film substrate looked a little 'dull' after the negs dried -- but some cheapie Lomo 100 film (done in the same batch) looked 100% OK.
Thank you for the link, I'll see if I can locate the problem.
