C-V eyepiece diopters on X-Pro1?

I'm seeing reference to Cosina diopters being the original approved corrective eyepieces for the X-Pro1 before Fuji started marketing their own. I see our innkeeper has these for sale, and I think they even have nice rubber rings to protect your sunglasses.

Has anyone tried these? How did you pick the strength? My readers are nominally +2 - is that what I'd order or would I need to do a conversion?

I'm trying to use my XP1 without bifocals or cheaters - I recently got monovision contacts, and my shooting eye is now uncorrected.

I believe they are the same as the one's Fuji markets. The one's I've seen images of appear identical, Fuji recommends CV. Haven't seen a CV close enough to see if they're markings are the same.

You need to decide where you want optimal focus, the evf or the ovf, they are on different planes. Overlay's on the ovf are also on a different plane -- perhaps the same as the evf.

I have astigmatism so my approach may not have been the correct one. I simply bought a full set of Fuji's and zero'd in on the best compromise for the ovf. Ended up with one power greater than my prescription. Nikon's also fit. A couple of different rubber surrounds and some with no rubber I've read, never seen the latter. They have half strengths as well as being cheaper. Typical for me, I gave away 35 years worth of Nikon diopters before I got my xp1.

I chose to optimize the ovf since that's what I use for AF glass. For adapted I can see peaking well enough in the evf. Or ovf and zone focus -- my usual lazy approach with adapted.

Thanks for the first hand experience! I hate to buy more diopters than I need, but it may be the best way of determining which one works the best for me.

I can report back and say that the C-V diopters are identical to the original XP1 eyepiece. I found a +1 and a +2, I need to work with them to see which I prefer. The EVF and overlays are in best focus with the +2 but the OVF is slightly blurry which I think is preferable to everything being slightly out of focus with the +1.
