It's starting to really suck. C-41 is like a P-40 Warhawk comin' in on a wing and a prayer - it's been all shot to **** but it's going to make it.
Stop responding to this blithering discussion, buy some film and send a message to corporate. If things are so bleak, why is a film camera sold everyday and every hour on the web?

Yeah I can't imagine that any more than 2 film cameras sell world wide per day. Who shoots film anyway?

Used to develop color film. Both neg. and slide.

Developed slides, many yrs. ago when, during the process, the film was exposed to light then developed again to turn into a positive.

Even have cross processed some films. Kind of interesting.

Still have some Tetenal stuff that I need to mix up & use in my film developing room. Have color neg film I need to expose to get this stuff used up.

Sorry, this is a medium I've totally switched to digital.

I dunno man, I work part time at a Kodak Express and we process loads of C-41 with our Noritsu and sell plenty of disposables. We're by no means a pro lab, but the results are good enough for me to take my own stuff in

And the response is to start another thread about a thread you prefer dead and buried? Looks like it is starting all over again.

Bob

Just some good news to lift the spirits. Just found out there is a new c41 lab in Melbourne, opened recently!!!

So it's not all doom and gloom as some would like to suggest....

Won't give it a plug as I am not sure if it is allowed...

Driver,
Good intentions don't go well in certain parts of RFF.
I can't quite figure out why :)

Haven't you guys heard, film died a long time ago. You should go get a digital SLR, that's what Steve Huff of somebody shoots.

these "FILM IS DYING" threads are such a bore, seriously.

I think this rumor started with a simple misunderstanding. Someone said 'My film is drying' and the other person understood 'film is dying'. One thing led to another and now the whole world thinks it's true. ;)

Fading away....

Jared, your stable of cameras is world class - too bad three of them will unusable when the last standing C-41 place pulls the plug.

I see the trend but can't make an accurate assessment with incomplete data. Data from every lab would be needed.

As annoying as these threads are they are indicative of the situation world wide for film and processing facilities ... the market is still compressing and colour film photography is on the wane generally. We all got very excited when Kodak released Ektar because it proved that the naysayers were wrong and Kodak could see a future in creating new C41 emulsions in spite of a dwindling market.

And we all know how good Kodak are at reading the market!

And to the OP. No one has to open and read any thread around here ... last time I checked we were still a democracy. :D
