Caffenol C M Develooping

I´ve tried my first film of TMAX100 in Caffenol-C-H. Underdeveloped somewhat, as the negatives are rather thin. Apart from that it would seem that this can be repeated.

Caffenol-C-H is for regular development, normal agitation schemes. However results for different types of film are not readily available. And everybody has tweeked their mixture to serve their purposes. Also different coffees have different levels of caffeine acid. The more gut rot the coffee, the better. So trial and error to begin with is part of the game. My negs were thin, but still perfectly scannable. I´ll be adding 0.5 to 0.7 EV to the next development. This time around I used 11 min (TMX 120), 1 min initial agitation, then 10s every 1min. Stop, fix and wash as usual. Potassium bromide is used to reduce haze, but too much can clean the negatives altogether.

Caffenol-C-H as from Caffenol.Blogspot.Com
Sodium Carbonate (water free washing soda) 54g per litre
Ascorbic acid 16g per litre
Instant Coffee 40g per litre
Potassium Bromide 1g per litre

As I said earlier I don´t abide to a spoon "slightly heaped" of this and leveled slightly different spoon of that. It will not get reproducible results, if things go wrong, you´ll have no idea as where to start to look for the culprit.

Results so far. Ok, just the one film. And it was thin. But, still scannable. Even so, I found the scans to be easy to work with. They exhibited good tonal range, shadows were easily recovered, highlights not blown (hardly surprising really, underdeveloped as they were).

An example or three (do not comment on the quality of image content please, these are pure test shots). The first two are post-processed more or less normally and then given a 0.5 EV boost. The last one post-processed, but no exposure or contrast changes, so more or less as the scanner delivered it:
