Following on from my post here about my visit to Cairo, here are some pics from the same trip shot with my Xpan and the 30mm and 45mm lenses on Kodachrome 64.

1,3,5 are some of the best images I've seen on here in a long, long time. Amazing. You put the format to really good use.

EDIT: If you're looking for some inspiration, check out Lucas Wahl's website. (Portoflio -> Stories -> Nepal 1/2)

Those are great examples of that special Xpan- times like this, I wish I had mine back again! I was surprised with #2- always thought the Sphinx was larger :)

3 and 5 are especially nice.

Wonderful shots

Wonderful shots

I really like the sense of depth you have in the last 3 shots.

Any tips for an tx1 newbie? I got mine a week ago with a 45mm lens.
I like the feature that allows normal format shooting as well..

Great stuff! The XPan and Kodachrome is stunning, I have a bunch from Times Square I need to scan in within a few days, then I will post.

Stop it! I can' afford an X-Pan and I want one really bad!

Seriously...it looks like you really know how to use this camera. Thanks for sharing.

Great! I am waiting to graduate from college, for this camera will probably be part of my graduation gift.

Completely great. Your shots would be stunning with regular film, but the kodachrome just added that little extra!

Great great work, some top quality photos there and very interesting. The panoramic format has been used to great effect there!

Thanks for all the comments! I don't use it that much and sometimes think about selling it but then I look at the results I can get and any thought of selling disappears.

I did feel restricted by a film speed of 64 and slow lenses. If only they could make a 400 slide film as sharp as the 100 films.

Or I could get a Summilux-R 50 converted like someone posted about here...

Thanks for the link, it looks like he used a swing-lens camera like a Noblex, Widelux or Horizont.

Have a look also at Jens Olof Lasthein: Work > Black Sea White Sea
http://www.lasthein.se/

I've met Jens in Bratislava during photo festival in November. He is great person and of course I asked him what kind of camera he's using and it's Widelux.

Great photos and first post I've ever seen that's given me serious gas for an xpan! :)

Same here... after a peak at Ebay however I had to buy myself some Ice cream instead.
My GAS is looking at this as a nice second body option.

Really good shots! Most of these are with the 30mm?
