Calibration recommendations

My rangefinder is out of calibration. The M9 took a hard but cushioned hit, and at least the infinity focus is way out. I'm in Los Angeles. Are there any recommended vendors for bringing calibrating it? I don't wanna part with the camera for weeks, ie send it to Leica NJ. Also what's the ball park figure I'm looking at for this service?

It's only 50c for a 2mm Allen key. Then you just need a target at least a couple of miles away. The process is simple as long as you take your time. You should be able to do it yourself in about 10 minutes.

I cant speak for USA but I had mine adjusted by a local technician in Australia and I think it cost about $120. I did some preparatory work however. It was easier for me in the sense that mine was mainly a close focus issue. I got a piece of board about two meters long and marked a central focus point plus 20mm marks in front and behind it for some distance. I then set up the board a measured 3 meters from my focal plane (camera on a tripod pointing down towards the board on the floor at about 45 degrees.) I then focused on the central focus point first with the rangefinder then with the scale. I repeated this with about 5-6 lenses. All were out a similar amount. This gave the technician info he needed to know how far he had to adjust the rangfinder and no doubt saved some trial and error time.

I just picked up an M9P on Friday and spent the weekend getting familiarized with it. I was thinking that mine was also out of calibration - because my photographs all looked OOF on the LCD screen. Then I imported into Lightroom and they look killer. I'm really disappointed by the quality of the LCD.

The LCD is crap! I have mine set to off! It only gets used for lens ID setting and ISO changes. That's it.
