Finally my ZM is operational again and I'm ready to hit the streets with it.
I'd like to always have it with me in my backpack, and have it stuffed it in a far too small LowePro lens bag.

What are you using? What are your recommendations?

I like the lens bag solution instead of a complete camera bag. It's like a laptop sleeve for a camera: no need for a complete bag if it's in a backpack anyway, and I can slip it onto the camera pouch to complement my SLR if I want.

Just saw this:

Peachy!

For the camera alone: a Lowepro S 7F 60.
For a small outfit: Domke F-6.

I use the Domke with a two chimney insert for lenses, in the narrow side, a Nikon S2 with 50mm or 35mm. In the larger section, a Pentax MX with 50mm.

This gives the option, when a SLR would be advantageous.

Personally I use one of these from Artisan & Artist:

bit pricey maybe, but everything about it is really well thought out and the quality is excellent. As you can see from the pictures, when used purely as a camera bag it will fit a good amount of rangefinder kit, even with all the padding fitted.

The thing I really like about the bag though is that it works nicely as a more general day-to-day bag and so if I am going out, but not specifically to take photos, I use it with just the bottom piece of padding fitted, which gives you lots of extra space. In this case it nicely fits my ZI plus an additional lens or two, as well as my ipad and various small things like phone charger, spare films, ipod etc.

Alternatively, if that's not quite big enough for you (you mentioned also carrying a netbook in it), then they also do this:

which has the same basic layout with a bit of extra size for hardly any extra money.

Crumpler. Either the Five or Six-million dollar home.

I have three: two Fivers and one Sixer. I have the older Five million model for any of my rangefinder cameras (sometimes I can carry the M8 plus my GF1 with a spare lens or two), and the newer Five million model I use for either rangefinders or one of my dSLRs.
