Of course, you are not into photography for photography so I can understand your illogical choice.
Why take it so personally. If you apreciate beauty, you can apreciate a good photograph and a beautiful camera. Perhaps you are too 'logical' to get that.

For me it's my M6(black) with a Summicron 35mm attached.

At the risk of starting a war I'll venture my M5. Certainly has aged well.

Oh yes, the M5 is definitely unique, I am sure one can fall for it.

Now we're talking. Both form and function.

My answer would be 'almost nothing', Kiu. Though i've never actually handled an S3 (or any Nikon Rangefinder, for that matter), i can't imagine it's much trickier in use than an F (my 'go to' camera), which i've found to be a very comfy fit. I'd take a week off of work just to shoot one..NIKON KIU said:Come on folks, what could be more beautifull than this?

I will say the BANTAM SPECIAL designed by Walter Teague ,marvellous streamline art deco rangefinder camera. ( sorry, I don't know how to post a picture ).
and also black paint M2, and third, black SP....

Did you say Nippon Kogaku
I was in Chicago last month for the Chicago Camera show mentioned right here in these threads:Cale Arthur said:My answer would be 'almost nothing', Kiu. THAT was your golden chance, Now you have to come to DC!!
It was well worth the trip for me, Mr. Rotoloni pulled a 2.1cm f4 Nikkor- O out from under his table to show a couple of us rookie NHS members, I immediatly took the lens off my S3, mounted the 2.1cm on my S3 along with the finder and took a few pictures
Cale, anytime you come to DC,you get to use the S3 for a day

I certainly won't dump my Leicas because the Nikon F100 is sexier... But my vote to the best looking camera goes to the R8!

M4-P + 50 Summicron
Even my Fed-3 + Jupiter 12 looks better than the Nikon rangefinders (judging by the pictures).

I deliberately avoided the Chicago show, as i've needed to focus my monies on a darkroom (which i've almost completed!).. timing is everything, i guess. Was great to see your pics of the show, though, however painful..
I'm going to hit a few pawn shops in Detroit this coming weekend.. maybe i'll get lucky?

Vow, that looks like something from outer space! Are you sure it's a camera.

The SP is certainly impressive looking, but (he said, ducking) all the Nikons are derivative in looks from the Contax II. And the placement of the shutter button is not the best, let's face it.
I am a partisan, but I think the Hexar RF is really quite striking -- minimalist and functional.
Going the other way, I just love the folding Contessa -- all those little levers, knobs and dials. A little jewel. (A bit cumbersome in use, however.)
As for SLRs, I keep coming back to the Nikon FM/FE family (not the later Cosina-made models). Just plain cute, and controls are well-nigh ideally placed. And I'm surprised no one has mentioned the OM1/OM2.

Good thing we are all different or we would all wan't the same camera. Matter of fact I think the FED 5 is a simply georgeous camera, but I must say that this is comming from a man that likes his women pleasingly plump.

That's another one! Beautiful yes. I had a 35Ti for one day, one of those lovely dials was screwed up and one of the buttons didn't want to work, but that's one sharp lens on that thing. It wasn't a good fit for my hands
Rob that's by far the nicest pinhole camera I've ever seen! Do you own that?

I vote for Blanck SP with vintage 35mm 1.8(crom ring), it looks really gorgeous!
And I think the most well balanced looking Nikon RF is Nikon S2 ~

After (somewhat blindly) following some Chinese language links. Lots of interesting stuff there. Be more so if I could read the text.
I'm fairly sure that the shutter and level and VF came from these guys:
EightBanners Pinhole Cameras.
