Going deer hunting next week & curious about camera suggestions - my choices are an Electro 35 GT, Kiev 4A, or an M5. Thanks.

What's the light situation? Are you trying to take pictures of the deer before they are dead? If so, while they're moving? The Electro line generally goes up to 800 ISO (you'd need to check that particular model) and 1/500 is the max shutter speed. It's also a fixed 45mm (or 40mm?) lens. I doubt that's going to be enough reach unless you're the invisible man.

I think the Kiev is the obvious choice. Properly manly for the activity, and if run out of ammo you can throw it at the deer with a good chance of killing them outright if it hits. The camera will, of course, survive the experience; I'm pretty sure being able to inflict blunt force trauma and still work was a Soviet design requirement.

Just in case anyone wonders, I'm taking my Nikon F4 w/28-105 lens. No meter on the Kiev & I'm not ready to throw the M5 in a pack, so I'll take The Tank. Thanks for your suggestions!
