Camera Display Case

Not that any of us have more than one camera...
Not that any of us think that cameras can be beautiful...

But IF we had and IF we did....how would we hypothetically speaking display such cameras? ;)

I was browsing around looking for ideas;

This guy does what seems like really nice and affordable custom display cases/cabinets (you can look at the other items he have for sale as well):

This one was kinda cute

How are people here displaying cameras - if you are.

I've almost completed (2 more models to go) my Olympus 35 collection and it's really looking quite nice.. :)

Would love to see photos or hear about experiences/ideas.

i stole my idea from here, i think.
i use an old chrome coat rack.

richard that was bizzare!
i have no idea why that first post was there and so then i deleted it and your question went missing also.
computers...

You know that LOOKS really nice but the sheer thought of having them hanging next to each other like that rattles my sometimes neat-freakish and lens-/body scratching worried nature. :)

I'm thinking shelves or a case is the way to go for me.

oh me too, but i live alone and the rack is in my (lonely) bedroom so there is little likelihood that it would be bumped into.
plus the cameras are my older ones. the bessa (and soon to be canon p) stay in one of my camera cases.

just a note...i would think a case would be best. shelves would require more dusting, meaning more opportunity to drop a camera.

I took over a shelf in our lounge room TV/Hi-fi cabinet ...

And a shelf in our study area...

Sorry about the quick and nasty digital images.

Mike - wow :)

I thinkI may get something like that... I really just want something nice to display 10-15 cameras.

Fun to see how others have it setup!

Laika, nice collection there!
All russkies?

Yup all my RF's are Soviet so far, I've a couple more shelves of mixed cameras, lenses, light meters and stuff. None of it is as nicely displayed as I'd like but I guess you have to make do when you’re only renting.

I wanna come over and "shop."

Wow.

I use a coat rack, but as storage more than display. I hang my cameras in an extra bedroom in their cases. That keeps the dust off them and protects them from bumps.

I have some of mine displayed in three china cabinets, and 13 shelves. My better equipment resides in an old army footlocker under lock and key. Also in 16 camera bags, 4 cardboard boxes, a shipping trunk and I'm ashamed to say, a huge pile of goodies, lenses and doodads on a single bed in my computer/study room. I have some very early pics of some of my camera collection in its infancy (meaning I just put up the shelves for trial photos and forgot I hadn't painted them yet) on MSN at http://groups.msn.com/funtocollectcameras/curtiscameracollection.msnw?Page=1 . Since I took those shots, I've changed the room lighting fixtures, painted the shelves a dark brown in the study and added three more shelves by my computer. Meters, flashes, power packs for older flashes, darkroom equipment, etc. sits in two big boxes in a closet for the time I get my act in gear and unload a few non-essentials on E**y. Counting 110's, toy cameras, etc. I have 710 so many hide in drawers etc. and don't see the light of day often much to my chagrin.

Curt...you're my hero.....

Wow.....

Can I come over and play after dinner!?!?

Local camera shop had a nice glass and wood Kodak display
case from England for sale. Made in the early 1900's I would
say. Would make a great display case for about 10 cameras
on 3 shelves but it was about $200 for it..
