I've got one of these which does fit my Canon IIf, but does not fit my Canon VI-T (the VI-T is too big). I'd imagine that the P would have a similar problem. Not only that, I'd say that the $64.99 USD starting bid is way overpriced. I wouldn't consider a price over $25 -- I actually got one for under $10 _including_ shipping, but that's probably a bit less than average.

I can't tell from the picture. At least it has the tripod fixing screw on the right-hand end, which is where it would need to be for a P or L. There was a different model (which I have) for the V-T/VI-T, which has its tripod fixing screw on the left-hand end, as required for these models.
The only potential kicker is that older bottom-load Canons also had the tripod socket on the right-hand end, so conceivably this might be for one of them rather than the P. The fact that it doesn't have a model marking on it (mine is marked "Camera Holder V-T") provides a slim suggestion of evidence that it's for the older models, before they had to start producing different versions of the holder.
This is all guesswork, but it'll give you something to mull over while we wait to hear from someone who knows for sure...

Joe,
Your III and IV should fit (I think) -- you have to slide it in left-to-right rather than top-down, if that makes any sense. I.e. put the camera bottom down on the holder bottom (make sure the holder's bottom screw is out of the way), then slide the camera into the holder and screw the holder's screw into the tripod mount, It works fine for my IIf.
I guess I must have gotten lucky. I paid $5.50+shipping for this about 2 months ago, so I have a hard time taking $65+prices seriously,.
Then again, I also paid $.99+shipping for my flash unit V (not sure if I'll ever use it), and I just bought a leica 50/2.8 elmar for about $50 -- unless the latter is horribly scratched, it's quite a bargain,.
Price efficiency is not ebay's strength. Some items go for less than 1/4 their market value, and other items go for more than twice what they're worth.

I hadn't even thought of the tripod mount end. But, yes, you're right, My IIf (with right-side tripod mount) fits fine. My VI-T, in addition to not actually fitting (as previously mentioned) has the tripod mount on the wrong side for the camera holder.

Thanks - must agree that the price looks a bit silly. I think I'll let that one pass!
Joe you don't have an oversupply on those Photo Equip grips for the P do you by any chance?

None of them fit? I never tried my IV in it before passing it on. Strange, I thought the Canon bodies were somewhat standardized.

Unfortunately, this camera holder will not fit a P. It will fit everything through the IV series, though. I have a couple of these, one mint, one less so, and neither fit my Canon P- the camera is just a little too wide.

Camera holder - fits P?
I have both a IIIA and a IVSb, and both fit in the holder- in fact, I keep the IIIA displayed in the holder.

mine must have been bent inwards a bit.
i did not try to force the bottom feeders into it and they did not slide easily, so i decided not to scratch them trying.

Don't blame you- I wouldn't want to take the risk either.

The earlier bottom-loader camera holder only has a hole for the strap lug, so you have to take everything off the strap lug to put it on. Later ones have a larger notch for the strap lug, you can leave the strap on.
I remember is it a snug fit, at any case. They really wanted to hold the camera steady.
