Camera leather materials

Something I was wondering, how do you attach the new leather to the camera? What kind of glue do you use? :)
Cheers,
Marnicq

There's this site I saw selling quite some kinds of leather cut out at the size of your camera (or at the least the parts that need the leather).

There are a numberof options, depending on the material and how permanent you want it to be. Some cameras have screws under the leather, so you might need access some time in the future.
Pliobond dries hard and brown and is pretty hard to get off. It also tends to dry out and crack after several years. Contact cement is similar, and the label says not to use on metals containing copper.
E6000 craft glue stays softer and dries clear. It is still difficult to remove, but better than Pliobond.
Rubber cement stays soft for a long time, but the longer it is in place, the harder it is to remove.
My wife has a device for scrapbooking that can make a sticker out of any flat material. There are different adhesives that are permanent or semi-permanent. You just run the material through and it comes out with an adhesive backing with a peel off paper. For small pieces, I apply the adhesive first, and then cut them out. For larger pieces, I will cut them out first and then apply the adhesive.

Fallis you've given me an idea. Check out this link for pressure sensitive wood veneer. It might be interesting to leave the wood unfinished and let it color up over time from handling.

The problem with that is that it would probably just get dirty. If you want a wood that changes color with time, try maple. It turns brick red (look at the stock on an old flintlock rifle sometime). Cherry turns really red. White oak eventually turns black. What I'd like to see is quilted maple veneer -- stained red, it would look like your camera had burst into flame:

Cocobolo would be nice too:
