Hi

This is my first posting so sorry if I appear to be re-inventing the wheel here.

I just bought a Canonet ql17 g3 on Ebay and put a test roll through it, looks quite sharp. Will post better ones soon. The camera itself is in good condition, but I think it may be good to get it overhauled with new light seals etc.

Additionally I have ordered a Kiev 4a (no money for Bessa stuff yet...and it seems better than the Zorkis from what I have read..).

I read the quality Control on these can be a bit iffy, so that may need an overhaul too, if I like that one too.

I saw on for the Kiev as below:

Any comments, ideas?

Hi Stephen,
If you need a good repairer in the UK, I would recommend Michael Spencer (http://www.btinternet.com/~camerarepairer/). He is very reasonably priced and carries out good work. As far as the GIII is concerned, if it is working well, I would leave it be. A full service is likely to cost you about £45 even from Mike. If the seals are going these are worth replacing, You can get a seal kit that will do many cameras from Jon Goodman for aout £10. It is also worth cleaning the finder if this is dusty. Again this is relatively easy to do. Alternatively, although I am not a "repair man", I can do both of these for you and the postage is likely to cost more than the job. Send me a PM if you need anymore info.

Regards
Kim
