I'm looking for a holster, small pouch or other soft case just big
enough to fit a Bessa R with grip and 35/2.5 CV lens *ONLY*.

The VC "eveready" cases won't fit with the side grip attached.

Any suggestions?

TIA,
Chris

Chris, I gotTHIS a few years ago for my Olympus C5050. I have not tried it with a Bessa, but I often use it with a Hexar AF. Protects the camera well with nice thick padding, and the pull-out waterproof hood had saved the hexar a few times.

Have you considered using an eveready case without the side grip?

I recently sold my Bessa R (with side grip) to my father and bought an R2A that came with an eveready case. The bottom half of the case makes the camera handle really nicely, especially when the top half is removed completely... The case itself acts as a small side grip. I tend to keep the bottom half of the case on all of the time. Although this does make it a bit fiddly when changing films.

Using just the bottom half of one of these cases helps to reduce the shutter noise a little. It protects the camera body from scratches and stops the camera strap rings wearing the corners of the camera.

I am looking at this same eveready case for my R, but I can't seem to find a picture of it anywhere!! Does anyone know where I could see this case in both the full version, and with the top half removed?

Pete, I would really like to use my Bessa this way, but I hesitate in buying a case I can't see. Thanks for the idea by the way!! 🙂

Pete,

Thanks for all the shots!!! That is exactly what I was looking to see. Now I can feel more comfortable about buying the case. For some reason I though the case didn't cover the back as well as it does. I agree about the Leicatime cases. Besides, the Bessa is my stand by, always near so I thought a case would be necessary. Thanks again for the pics.
