The meter in my M6 was giving random responses to changes in speed and aperture and I figured it wasn't communicating with speed so I had to decide where to get it repaired. I live in Northern NSW so there is nothing local. A friend in the industry recommended CameraFix Camera Repairs in Sydney | Lens Service Centre Shop Near Me and I'm so happy I took his advice. The service was fantastic, the camera was back at my local PO three weeks after I posted it. As I expected the shutter speeds switch needed repair and I also ordered a full CLA while the camera was open. Everything is working smoothly and it feels just like it did in !986 when I bought it (as far as my eighty year old brain remembers). The people there are very friendly and helpful and the the whole experience was very pleasant. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

Cheers,

Good to hear, but I emailed them a week ago about cleaning a couple of rollei 6000 lenses and have heard nothing back.
My M6 0.85 would not change framelines and Leica Melbourne took 3 weeks to quote me and 5 weeks to fix it and a frozen battery cap and generally check and adjust everything. Definitely did the work locally, no sending to Germany and they did a beautiful job.

The total cost was around AU$880 which is the equivalent of about US$600. Sounds like a lot but considering what had to be done and the condition of the camera when I got it back I'm satisfied that it was money well spent.

That surprises me Mark, they have always responded to me promptly. Try giving them a call, they have always been very helpful over the phone.

Cheers,
Clay
