Camera repair in Toronto

Hello

I'll be in Toronto between July 21 and 25. I'm looking for suggestions for getting a camera CLA'ed, a well used Nikon FE2, my first camera and sentimental favorite!

I'm under the impression Nikon doesn't work on them anymore, and the local camera repair guy (Halifax) hates Nikons!

I found Commercial Camera Repair here, and have been in touch with them over email, but I'm curious if any RFFers in TO have any experience with them or any other company for that matter.

That's right, Joe, but I think he specializes in Leica.

Joe 🙂)), there is Komenic (or Kominec) just off Younge st. on College? Don't expect to turn your camera over on the 21st and get it back on the 25th though.

May I suggest Commercial Camera Repair. Gord is the best and has done work on my Contax IIIa, Leica M3, my Nikons and Pentax Spotmatic. Gord also sells used cameras too and always has some interesting stuff for sale. Google Commercial Camera Repair and you will get the contact info. He is up at Yonge and Finch.

i think gerry also works on other cameras.
i know he was willing to take a look at the dropped p but was cautious about doing the work as he had no access to parts, if needed.

Don't expect to turn your camera over on the 21st and get it back on the 25th though.

Oh no no, I don't expect that kind of turn around! I'm prepared to leave it to be sent back to me!! I just like to know who I'm leaving the gear with. I had the camera sent off about 12 years ago through a local camera store to Nikon, but it took almost 4 months to get the camera back! I think the camera store screwed up in that case.

Gord at Commercial Camera Repair for sure. Personable, old-school, and he does about anything to get a camera fixed -- like my poor Rollei SL2000F (remind him of that; tell him Julian said hello). He'll definitely be able to work with your time-line.
