I figure posting this might help someone. I had been looking for a solid repair shop/person here in Virginia up until 3 weeks ago. I found Bill Moretz at ProCamera in Charlottesville after about a month of searching. Not much for Virginia has been mentioned on the forums, as far as I could find anyway.
This shop is great, very nice, hometown feel, superior work, and very reasonable prices for the quality of work. Careful though, there is a lot of tempting gear for sale! Does anyone else have experiences at this shop, or other shops to recommend in Virginia or surrounding area?

Nothing to recommend, but thanks for that.
Virginia? Good state for camera repair, in my experience! For Fuji repair anyway... He's a real wiz with Fuji RF cameras.

Frank is great to work with- he replaced the bellows on my Fuji folder and repaired a shutter on a LF lens.

I bought my M8 and my Hexar RF (used and clean as new) at Pro Camera in Charlottesville.
The people who run it are top flight.
I've also had my Rolleiflex CLA'd there. Bill does most everything himself.

Pro Camera may be good at repairing cameras, but they're not too big on customer service when you walk in there. Prepare to stand there and be ignored by the man sitting up front in an empty store.
Plus, for a camera repair place they have almost zero knowledge about old lenses. The guy who "helped" me seemed more interested in pointing out that the M42 (screw mount) lenses weren't made any more and they wouldn't work on my camera body (which they absolutely DO, if you have an adapter). He told me to try finding them online.

I think these are the same guys who used to be located in Blacksburg. If so, they do excellent work.

Whatever
Frank Marshman at Camera Wiz is the king -- fixed my Contaflex TLR, overhauled my MOOLY motor for my screw mount Leica's -- I don't think there's anything he can't fix!

Gota chime in here. Any shop can have it's share of "characters" ( employees) and Pro camera has had them just like any other place. Can you tell it"s my local camera shop!
Over the years Bill has helped me with all my equipment from large format down to 35mm and back around to the darkroom. Some of the equipment I have seen him fix/engineer/adapt has been inspiring. As for lenses, I don't think he has ever met one he didn't want to try out and he's shown me the results of quite a few.
Hmm, if I'm lucky he will read this and I'll get a discount on the Minolta Autocord of mine that's in his shop now.
