Hey everybody, i just bought an olympus om-1n off evilbay and am wanting to check to see if there is foam deterioration on the prism when i get it. i was looking at http://olympus.dementia.org/Hardware/tutorials/OM-1CoverRemoval/index.html
that site and i have none of the tools listed there that are needed. I will probably continue to shoot with old 35mm cameras and so i think a tool kit for basic repairs would be worth it.

Would anyone know where to look to buy these supplies? possibly online? maybe it comes in a kit or something? Any help would be great.

Thanks

Micro-Tools has a great selection of camera tools. They sell kits, but for occasional repairs/tinkering, you can assemble a kit of lens spanner, screwdrivers, various tweezers and pliers for a reasonable cost. Address is www.micro-tools.com

In my limited experience, a cheap lens spanner works about as well as a more expensive pair with a variety of blades. An alternative to a lens spanner is to get a cheap pair of needle-nose pliers and file the tips down to fit the slots in lens bezels. This solution works quite well on smaller lenses, but is kind of difficult with lens diameters exceeding 50mm or so.
