Today (9th Nov) we had a very busy camera show here in the Netherlands (nearby Utrecht in the centre of the Netherlands)... lots of people were probably thinking it would be bad weather due to the forecast, but it wasn't ;)..of course I had to take some stuff back home so ....I found myself a very nice looking and working M2......and an old summaron....and some filters....and some sunshades..... well money gone , but sure we are lucky to have yet new camera gear to play with :)

I was there too. Less sellers again. Not much trade. But I got a nice Leica R6, new Metz flash, an Horseman TTL 6x9 exposure meter, an Elpro, a Leica M bodycap and a 5 reel development tank. Good day for me:)

Cheers,
Michiel Fokkema

I don't see myself in the pictures ;) But I was there too, bought a lot of stuff. Show was smaller than last year though (but still provided a day's worth of browsing and entertainment).

What I bought:

- Book with non glamour female portraits (aptly named 'Frauen')
- Book with wonderful B/W pics of steam trains in the US.
- A general book about B/W photography (it is co-written by 'our' Roger Hicks, so it must be good :D)
- A book about all medium format systems on the market (in German). Very useful.

(quite handy that I can read both English and German after all :D)

A small mountain of film in 120 and 135 formats (Ilford & Kodak)

A Leica M lens cap

Two plastic bottles for chemicals

And last but not least, a very nice Yashica Mat 124 with manual and battery! (My first medium format camera)

The Hasselblads and Leica's were a bit overpriced IMHO ;)

I was thinking of going there but didn't make it at the end, mostly due to the fact that I recently got a couple of "new" cameras and there are couple more pending. I know that show would turn out an excesive money trap for me, so I avoided it this time :)

I'm curious though - is it really worth it? Do they have good bargains?

There are a LOT of Leicas there, enought to make my spine tingle at least. Everything from battered I's to M6 TTLs really. The most expensive must have been a gold M4-P.

Didn't really look for a 'N-L' camera, but even if you can't find it, there are a lot of people there who might...

Bargain wise you need to get a bit lucky. All people there are fairly knowledgable, and you need to be a member of the Dutch 'fotografica' society to get in early (to get the best bargains). I was tentatively looking for a user M3 and a Hasselblad 500 C/M. Plenty to choose from, but prices were considerably higher than I would have had to pay if I bought from eBay. But for less popular systems there is a lot of choice too, and almost all analogue gear is very cheap anyway.

But I got some cheap-ish film yesterday, and a very nice Canonet for next to nothing there last time. The two friends I brought with me both bought old folders, just as conversation pieces ;) and also an old, cheap Agfa, just because his parents have one.
