ok, i can't stand going to disneyland. it's all the lines, uninteresting shops, and bland food. fast pass is ok, but you still end up doing one sucky thing or another in the meantime.

i did get to camera spot while walking to and fro, or sitting in front of the castle and walt disney statue, and the rides are fun, so all was not lost. i probably could have taken a camera, but i ran out of film last week and didn't have a chance to get any. i should have checked if they sell any good film! anyhow, here's an inventory of the cameras i saw:

tons of video cameras.
tons of disposable cameras.
a dozen silver canon 350d and 20d
bunch of kodak and fuji digicams
several sony t1 (held with two hands)
two olympus c-8080
one nikon d70
one nikon coolpix 7900
one panasonic fz20
one fuji gw690 iii (couldn't stop, fast pass)
several newish consumer film slrs, nikon, canon, minolta.

so there you have it. the current trends through the eyes of disneyland. i'll update this list because i'm going again on july 4th. =(

I was at Disneyland last month with an SLR and a Zorki 4 w/ CV 35 2.7 and aux finder. I had a lot of looks and a couple of people ask whether the Zorki 4 was digital.

I still can't fathom the number of persons who spend large sums of money to go to Disneyland (or any othe vacation destination) and use a disposable camera to take their pictures.

Be sure that they get more keepers out of their disposables than you or I do out of our fancy equipement. 🙄 It is all a question of priorities. For most people is is enough that Auntie Emma's flowery dress is recognisable. If that makes them happy all is well. (It seems to read patronizing;it sure isn't meant that way)
