Hi All, I foolishly left my M6 unattended in the garden in the presence of a fox. I was taking pictures of him and went inside to get another roll of film, when I came back I found that he'd grabbed my camera and dragged it across the garden and bitten through the strap in two places.

Can anyone recommend decent quality, unbranded strap to replace the Leica one that got fox noshed? Leica's own brand straps cost £30 and I'm looking something cheaper with less appeal to elitest camera snob foxes.

Thanks, Tim

Can't help you with a strap suggestion but I am impressed with that fox!

Years ago a Dingo chewed the leather (vinyl?) case off my mobile phone.

Too bad, but funny. Thanks for sharing. If you are rural enough
to have foxes, you might have a harness shop near you.

A good saddlemaker could provide an excellent strip of supple leather for you.

It was funny in hindsight but I still need to replace the strap. Does anyone know of a manufacturer of reasonably priced (no more than £20) fabric camera straps? I wanted something plain and retro looking, no pads or OTT branding.

I like the upstrap, but with shipping it is a little more than you state.

I hangs on the shoulder like glue, and there is no upside-down on the pad, it works either way

Wow. When I read the first part of your OP, I feared this was another stolen camera report. The fox got some taste!

In all seriousness, sorry to hear about the trouble and good luck with the strap search!
