Sally Mann is probably my favorite photographer right now. She may not appeal to the street-centric preferences of RFF, but she's certainly worth a look. If you can get past the controversy, she's pretty incredible.
These photographs just seem to get better every time I look at them.
I love how the dodging and burning has been made so obvious in the prints. That roughness is very appealing.
No problem, it's not all journalistic but there's nothing wrong with a bit of other styles of photography. I do believe you have to look at others works to improve your own.
