Cameraleather.com experience?

Patience?

I ordered from him Sept 11 and still have not received product. I wanted it for Christmas and thought it was soon enough to order. He sent an email in early December saying it was posted. Still not here, no response. Would not order again.

what did you order?
I am waiting for a black kid-skin for M6 since nov21.:(
no reply to my emails.

I've spent at least $500 with Morgan. He can be slow, but always has come through in the end. Im a happy customer.

I seriously doubt if anyone could make a decent living in the Western world selling camera coverings full time, except maybe a semi-retired person, so you gotta have some kind of day job--like Morgan does. Add in some kind of "life" and you get precious few minutes a day leftover for this kind of endeavor.

Unhappy customers are a given when they expect the same kind of delivery as they get from full time stores, etc. I had some stuff from him delivered ASAP and others were delayed, but my life didn't hang on it because I had other cameras. However, the quality or ultimate delivery/ integrity was never compromised.

However, I expect this thread will never end.

I ordered the red kidskin for my iiig in November. Several of my emails went unanswered, but the kidskin did arrive and is beautiful. Morgan told me that he is swamped with orders from Asia. The kidskins have to be individually cut.
I guess that it is the lack of response to emails that is the hardest part to understand.

I ordered the red kidskin for my iiig the same week as you ordered yours. Several of my emails went unanswered, but the kidskin did arrive and is beautiful. Morgan told me that he is swamped with orders from Asia. The kidskins have to be individually cut.
I hope that you get yours soon.
Thanks for the info. Hope mine will come tomorrow or within next week.
M6 is not my only M, but sometime I enjoy use it more than M2 (as mine has M3 style Lever)

I went ahead and ordered the new skin for my Argus C3 from CameraLeather...
I'll wait whatever it takes for it to get here, it's not a camera I'm using at the moment so no big rush...
The front of the camera is ready but the back still has the original covering on it...
I just know it's going to look so cool when it's done...

"Swamped with orders from Asia" sounds like Youxin's exhibition in Beijing may have caused a stir. There was a large collection there and from the photos, some had custom coverings, all were beautiful. I'd say that the market is opening up a little bit more and both Morgan and the existing RF community are just feeling the pressure.
I plan on ordering a Griptac covering for my M8 and should I ever lose the vulcanite on my M4, it will get covered in a black leather with a good grain. I don't think that I'd shop anywhere else considering the reviews I've heard of CameraLeather's products.

Made an order in last June which never arrived. In October I mailed him about it and the kit came a week later. The leather itself was indeed satisfactory so that I went out to make another order the same week.

In November I mailed him expressing my concerns over a possible delay and was told that the kid skin kits take time to be made in UK and mine's coming very soon. So I waited on - for another two months.

I mailed him again this morning about this second order. I'm in no hurry and I do still trust him...just hope I could finally get to dress my OM1 up this time.

My experience with cameraleather is very good. Ordered a Griptac for a friend M3's. It arrive with a very timely manner to Indonesia.

Going on 2 months without a peep! No way to run a business. This will be my last purchase from this guy even if it is nice.

-I did not order anything exotic and it was only 1 covering for my MP

I think most people are reasonable and patient, and can understand delays. And I have not seen anyone question his honesty or integrity. However, I think that it is the lack of response, rather than the delays, that is most disconcerting. A quick reply - "I'm sorry, but we are so overbooked that it will probably be 3 months before we can fill your order" - would be satisfactory, and would probably result in a significant decrease in the amount of email inquiries, giving him more time to work on those orders. Anyway, it is what it is. There aren't so many options, so you either accept it, or do without...
