Has anyone ordered a cover for their Leica from camera leather.com recently? I placed an order on 2/2/12 for my M3 and no word yet. I sent an email to them a few days ago but no response. What is your experience? How long does it take them to make one? I was told after I placed the order that it will take 5-10 business days.

Thanx
Anil

Very long, but they do deliver and when it does arrive you will be very happy about your purchase. My last order took 3 months to arrive.

From what I know, it's not his day job. So orders are processed very slowly. If you search rff for previous threads you will find a lot on this. I've bought from him in the past and the quality of materials and cutting is excellent. He's just very slow, give him time.

If you select "expedited" and pay the extra $5 it comes a lot sooner. Morgan is a swell guy, this is his side business. If you order the exotic leathers expect a long wait time.

Takes months and months with zero communication but they are still a good quality product... I wouldn't order anything too expensive and just accept that he doesn't do customer service. Other times I've ordered a common item, like M2 Griptac and it shows up in a week.

Morgan has always been top notch in my experience. I've used his recovering service several times with stunning results.

Top notch product for sure. Never disappointed. However, my last batch of skin came in after 8 months of waiting... Product is still great. I will keep shopping there.

Thanx for the replies. I am sure My cover will be delivered. I am surprised at the variation in delivery times.

I guess it's time to load my naked m3 and shoot!

Hey frank...nice to see you on this forum. I usually see you on the large format forum as well.

I've been lucky the two times I ordered from him..... it took the most around 1 month to reach here, I considered it OK as I lived on the other side of the world in South East Asia.

Hi,

I ordered one for my R-D1. It took about three week to come here in France. But I ruined the piece for the back during the installation.
I mailed them and they send me back the piece for free in a week.

If you are in the hurry Aki Asahi is posting next day, quality is the same if not better and Japan post EMS is incredibly quick..

I´ve ordered several times from Morgan, and he´s been both courteous and dependable. And there is no questioning the quality of the covers, both with regards to cutting, texture and durability. And they stick like stink. A cheap upgrade of many a camera I would say.

My experience is the same as so many other's. The kit can take ages to arrive with very little or no communication. But it will arrive and the quality is good. I will not hesitate to give Morgan more business next time I need/want to recover one of my cameras. He's a good guy.
