Count me as a fan of Morgan's, too.
I've used his coverings four times and always been happy.
You have to remember, his is a one-man, part-time operation.

Yep I have an order that dates back to Dec 2011 (although we did make contact so i could add to the order in Jan). Coming up to March and I am still patiently waiting. My naked cameras are now getting a nice rest while i use other cameras...

Yikes!
Interestingly enough I ordered in November, we corresponded a little in the start but I haven't heard from him since. Just sent a follow up email the other day. Was wondering what became of this.

I know I am being impatient but I don't like buying something and not being delivered. My one and only response form Morgan was that my order takes 5-10 business days. It's been a month. I am curious, has anyone on this forum received their order lately?

I love Morgan's products. Got the verdigris on my M3.
Over and over and over...complaints. I suppose most of the time, the product is delivered but not without a thread like this periodically. I wish someone could help him.
Ya pays yer money and ya takes yer chances.

Dave,
I wish someone can help him as well. His products get rave reviews on many forums. However, as a business practice of charging your credit card with almost no communication and no expected delivery, I find it unusual.
I was going to send in my M3 for recovering services. I am glad I decided to do it myself. At least, I still have my camera.

You were very wise... just for my own information, how the heck does one get the rewind lever off the M3 to recover it?

Love vintage Hifi, too!
The one on the front above the self-timer?
Just unscrew the screw. Then pull it.

Dave,
You do not need to take any levers off to recover (based on what I have read and seen). If you are careful, you will be able to get all the vulcanite off under the rewind lever. I was able to remove and clean everything using readily available paint and varnish remover.
The new cover should have a notch cut in so that you can slip it under the rewind lever. I plan on using the "wet method" if and when I receive my cover.

Doh! I meant the self-timer but am dealing with another medical issue and while waiting I was typing without thinking.
So, doesn't the self-timer lever need to come off or can the cover be "wiggled" onto and around it before it sticks down? I assume the wet procedure will do that for you?

I am still waiting for a griptac covering he promised me to send after I received a wrong covering (burgundy red
), that was last year in May ... (The camera is long time sold now, with the burgundy-red leatherette ...)
Additionally, I ordered a M4-2 covering on February 11th, nothing yet... I emailed him and got reply to confirm my address (that did not change) that my order had shipped February 18th but nothing yet. A usual letter-sized small package arrives within one week here in Japan when sent from US ...
I had ordered griptac a couple of times in the past from him and always received the leatherette within a week at most, perfect fit.

Dave,
Cameraleather.com has detailed instructions on how to apply new cover. The self timer or any other lever do not need to be removed.

Ordered a set of Griptac, which I believe would not require some lengthy and delicate British leather work as on their kid skin sets. Again, a (mere) month's wait, no sign of delivery.
I'm patient as always though.

My order for the M9 took 4-weeks. Well worth the wait. The mahogany kid leather fit like a glove so to speak. Many Thanks Morgan!

Today I have received two letters from Morgan @ cameraleather.com, the original ordered griptac (shipped on February 18th) and the replacement after emailing to Morgan last week and asking what happened to my first order. Excellent service, Morgan !! Thanks a lot again !!
(I will transfer the money for the second leatherette by Paypal ASAP !)

last time I ordered leather for M4 and RD-1. They were delivered in 10days.
Then I ordered another set of Griptac for my Rd1, but it never appeared after 3 month. I wrote to Morgan. He replied he thought the item should arrive long before and said he will check. Another month passed without any updates or delivery.
so real mixed experience.

Update after 45 days. No sign of my camera cover or any email responses. Gave up and contacted PayPal to get shipment info. If the request goes unanswered, the order will be cancelled. Who needs this kind of hassle. My time is worth more money than this BS. Sorry for the rant but others may want to know (if they do not already).

It will probably go unanswered and PayPal will return your money. If he had it, he would have sent it. He is likely waiting for materials, which is fine, but the lack of response is infuriating. It is what it is and has been well documented in many threads.

I had the same problem but it was around 9 months. After opening a paypal dispute, Morgan contacted me. I feel that he should have responded to one of my many e-mails but it took a paypal e-mail to get action. Anyways, in the end, I DID finally get my skin, it just took way longer and with more hassle that it should have.
