Cameraleather.com ?

My last dealings with Cameraleather were at least 5 years ago. Pity it's so hit and miss,
the product is great and fits perfectly ( at least on my YashicaMats ), but it was literally months and many emails (and finally scans of the money orders) to prompt him to send me the product. But heaven knows why,I'd probably order from him again, maybe it's something to do with old cameras? Peter
 
In all fairness, I had the same similar result with Morgan. I manage to get a camera form him and I will say that his product are definitely unmatched!
Having said that, I had several repairman vouch for him and told me to take a leap of faith and order the product. I did and we eventually did "speak" by email. He apology for his time away from the computer, but do have a job to tend to. Just want everyone to know I spoke with Aki-san and he did not have any pattern for the my camera. I offered to send it to Japan for him to measure it and send back to me.
It was only after Paul Ebel and Mark Hama told me top take that leap of faith, did I received the Leather skin convering for my Rolleifle 3.5E2. I will definitely buy from Morgan again for my next repair job.
 
I ordered from Aki-Ashai several times. One time the order didn't arrive by two weeks so I emailed him and he shot out a replacement the same day. Tracking showed the first shipment got as far a Tokyo and then stopped. The replacement arrived in 10 days.

About 6 months later, lo and behold the original shipment arrived, so now I have a spare.
 
As of recent, Morgan restored his website. He had a severe server crash from last year prior to the Summer and lost most of his record..

For those individuals who has an outstanding issue with him, please submit a copy of your PAID invoices to either RESOLVE & Close out your issue. That was how I recieved my New Leather Skin Covering for my Rolleiflex 3.5E2.

I personally do not believe that he took your money and ran off with it. He had answered my email and delivered my order. As I'm getting all of my cameras together for its needed CLA Using different repairmen, I will be ordering MORE Skin Covering from Morgan. His product is CLEAN and has to be the best I seen.

Hope this information will help others that felt they were short changed. It was never Morgan's intent to do so.
 
He's just extremely poor at communication.

If he had serious competition he'd be gone, but he's got more variety of styles and more supported cameras than Aki.
 
Let me put this one to rest.

Morgan IS a very nice gentleman, who IS very busy.

I dont blame him for missing a few emails, im sure he gets a hundred a day asking where the rest of his site went.

I hadnt ordered from Morgan since the site crash, but ive been a loyal customer for years. I never had any interest in paying Aki for a cheap skin, then waiting 2 weeks to get it, plus his order system is archaic.

I ordered a simple VH Black kit for a Nikon F im spiffing up (to unload at Photorama), forgot to send Morgan the size of my self timer bezel, 3days after payment, my leather kit is here with a personal thanks and 2 variations of the leatherette that surrounds the self timer.


Morgan is still on top of his orders, and his product is UNMATCHED by anyone.
 
I am glad you like him so much. If everyone had the same great experience with Morgan like you had, he would be receiving more love in the forums. However, skin is skin, unmatched or not Aki's product is good enough for me and after I have placed twice orders in the past to cameraleather and received none I don't really feel buying again from them... As the skins doesn't make the pictures better and I never heard of someone dropping a camera because of different than Morgan's skin attached and never happened to me as well, I am very comfortable buying from different vendor. Being super busy is not good enough excuse when people paying for something ahead and waiting months sometimes. I would understand if you place an order and pay upon arrival one day... Just my thoughts. Regards, Boris
 
I have ordered twice from Morgan. First one arrived with no problem, the second took a year and MANY emails and finally a paypal letter before it was sent.
 
I recently ordered a new covering for my M2 from Morgan. Paid using PayPal and received a fairly prompt email from Morgan confirming payment and an expected shipment date.

It should arrive in a week or so (fingers crossed) but so far the experience has been faultless.
 
I don't think there is a wider variety of customer experiences shared over the past few years on this forum regarding a particular vendor. This is just the latest in a long line of almost identical threads.

There is no other conclusion than he's completely flaky. Some people get top notch service, just as many get extremely poor...
 
I did not have a good experience with Cameraleather too about one year ago, and I posted it somewhere in this forum too.

Those who shared (their bad experience here) all speak about the same topic - his poor (or rather zero) communication. Its no longer about the product anymore, its about the attitude.

He fails in this aspect, and its not appropriate to do business this way. Period.
