anyone have any experience with gandy's metal lens hood/shade?

i'm thinking about trying a 40mm one for my soon to arrive 35/2.8

i wanted a canon or at least a nice walz series hood but i missed out on the last auction and don't see any on the current ebay list.

do you think they are 'worth' the 30 dollar asking price?

They're fine, but $30 is more than a little steep for them.

Try Porters - their catalog has a ton of cheap hoods that do the trick.
