I am relieved to see that his Nikon F is not as crumpled as he famously was. 🙂
And I am surprised to see that there was such as thing as an autofocus Nikon F. He clearly had no need to focus this one manually.

Drives me nuts when you see a commercial with someone taking pictures with a film sir and they're holding it away from their face like they're looking at the screen on the back of a digital sir. Maybe don't bother some people, but sometimes I get anal about technical things I see that are not right.

That could be because the actor wants face time, i.e. people to see him/her.

yes he had no need, and so those photos were out of focus... that episode has some great humor, spoiler alert! for instance he is mistaken as a resident, when searching a witness in a salvation army shelter 😀

Is he trying a macro shot with M2 and something that looks like 35mm lens?

The last shot is from the top of a huge tower, so lens choice is not his strong point perhaps. I think it’s the only lens his grandmother gave him. He’s too young to have succumbed to GAS.

In the wonderful documentary "Apollo 11" (2019) there are TONS of cameras, movie cameras (35mm, 16mm, 8mm) and even binoculars. Among them... Rolleiflexes, Nikon F's, Hasselblads... If I have time I will try to do a proper listing. And being real footage is great to see a taste of what people had just in 1969 (in the USA).

In Expendables 2 (2012), Sylvester Stallone takes a picture of the "crew" using a black Leica M9 with a 35mm Summarit in a scene just before take-off.

This is well documented. IIRC the camera was later auctioned off on eBay where it fetched $7,100. The very same camera is currently being auctioned off by the Leica Store in the Netherlands for more than twice that.

Storyline

When photographer Abel Goss comes to town, Lucas McCain decides to have son Mark's picture taken. Mark takes quite a liking to the old man but when Abel sees Col. Jess Whiteside in North Fork, he goes mad vowing to kill the man. It seems that Goss was a prisoner in the Civil War and Whiteside was the very cruel camp commander. Lucas calms him down but when Whiteside apparently call him out, Goss shoots him. There are no witnesses to the shooting and Goss is charged with murder. Mark's recollection of events and the photograph Goss was taking just prior to the shooting prove to be the key pieces of evidence at the trail.

A four-part British-Australian TV miniseries based on the biography of British photographer Tim Page, especially focusing on his relationship with Sean Flynn -the son of Errol Flynn- during the Vietnam War [Source: Wikipedia]. Lots of Leicas and Nikons.

The same characters feature prominently in Michael Herr's, 'Dispatches' (1977), which introduced readers to the experiences of soldiers in the Vietnam War. Eventually, Herr worked on the narration for the movie 'Apocalypse Now' and co-wrote the screenplay for the movie 'Full Metal Jacket' and several scenes and dialogue mentioned in the book were used in those movies [Source: Wikipedia].
