The weather is so crazy out here and the light levels keep shifting. I shot up my remaining Tri-X yesterday rating it 200. The sun was out with broken clouds and it was fairly nice. Today is starting off ok...decent light with a high gray ceiling but it's expected to change quickly. I may go off with the M2 and lots of 400 and see what happens.

Today I have taken a 24-exp roll of Tri-X with a Nikon FE2 and a Nikkor 105mm/2.5 lens. Tomorrow I may continue completing a roll of EFKE100 in an old Canon AF35M P&S camera. I am curious how B&W photos come out with such a camera. I may also complete a roll of Fuji color film I still have in the Hexar AF camera.

I spent an hour yesterday loading film from my bulk rollers into film cartridges - Tri-X, Fomapan 400, and Arista II 400 and I've still got 8 rolls of Delta 100 from a previous 100 feet. Not sure what I'll put in which camera, but I'm ready for tomorrow's excursion with the Israeli RF members in Jerusalem!

Just some guy, you know?
I've got some of Kodak's "new" Portra 400VC (the free film from the "yippee" thread) in my M4, and I'm about 2/3 of the way through it. Beautiful late-afternoon light at the playground today with my boy.
Considering that I haven't shot a frame of color negative in about two years, I'm looking forward to developing this roll.
OT, I also looked over some old work, and saw again what Fuji NPZ can do with a really blue sky...I'm thinking I need to throw some C-41 back into the mix again.
Cheers,
--joe.

Hi joe & all,
Enjoy the Portra & NPZ. Fuji Superior 200 is my standard emulsion.
Do you have any experience with the Kodak 400 C41 B/W film?
Thanks, mike

Hi Mike-- Rather decent stuff, and quite suitable for scanning, and for machine printing on color paper at your local lab (due to the same orange mask the color films have), and correspondingly less suitable for printing on traditional b&w papers. I would err on the side of overexposure, and avoid underexposure.mike goldberg said:Do you have any experience with the Kodak 400 C41 B/W film?

Thanks Joe & Doug,
Tho' I love B & W, it doesn't work out because of
the miserable B/W dev in local Labs. Will give the
C41 B/W a try.
Cheers, mike

Mike: I prefer Ilford XP2 Super to Kodak's C-41 film. There are others who feel the other way around.

I loaded a Contax II with APX400 (rated at 200) for my outing on Saturday. I'm thinking I may use the same camera today loaded with Acros.
