Camping in Colorado with a Fuji GL 690

Couple of things...

I have lived and worked in Aspen as a full time photographer shooting advertising, editorial and now fine for about 20 years, I spend tons of time in the areas that you were ( West Maroon Pass ).

You probably needed to use a warming filter because with elevations of 8,000-12,400 feet things are going to look awfully retro ( too flat, blue ) in terms of your resulting images. This Summer has been by far the most green and vibrant the state has ever been since I moved here and these photos simply fall well short of showing that.

Maybe some may think they like that look, but a warming filter would have helped immensely here, certainly more than any corrections in scanning or post.

The only lens that has the EBC (multicoating) made for the G690 BL, GL690, and GM670 is the 100/3.5AE. All other lenses are single coated. The non AE 100/3.5's are all single coated.

Indeed.

A finer sample of a GL was naught to be found. She was a loyal companion and will be missed.

I went on a hike through Maroon Bells near Aspen and came out on the other side - Crested Butte. I hiked about 8 miles a day with my GL690 and 100mm lens. I think it was worth it.

Here are some of the shots of the scenery and my buddies.
