I wonder how the Hubble Telescope and the thousands of other digital sensors in orbit right now have a long service life? Obviously it's extraordinarily expensive to design, build, launch and monitor these digital cameras in space.

Panasonic M43 cameras have a custom menu function 'Pixel Refresh' which remaps the sensor. It is recommended to do this yearly.
Do Olympus cameras have a similar function?

I've had this happen with two different digital PnS I had. I don't know exactly what to attribute the issue to, however both cameras (Canon SD series) started having the same issues as soon as the camera passed the 10k mark. I sent both back to Canon and they said there was nothing wrong with it. One died and like my 50mm 1.8 lens, they didn't fix it considering it was still under warranty.
