Yes.... The black pieces are loosing!!! That's a very nice chess set though. I purchased a nice one from House of Stanton for my brother this Christmas. Nothing like playing chess with quality pieces (and board). Otherwise, I don't see anything odd.

Focus and WB issues. But besides that, 1A is always a black square, which means your kids we're wrong the whole time :-D

They're not playing regular chess, it's SuperChess...
Surprising that no one has figured it out - some of the photos were taken in a mirror, which may explain why some of the pieces are on the wrong squares (or not! ...)

Well, I figured it out as soon as I looked at the photos. Since you said no Photoshop and since the squares changed from image to image, it was a given for any chess afficionado such as I. But I think you gave it too much importance. The WB is more problematic then the chess board on the pics...

except the two outside ones with the bluish cast.
Indoors, everything is brownish, and the photos of the white lit photographs on the wall show the white is white.

Didn't notice anything at all has you not said it, I haven't got the slightest clue about chess lol. Otherwise, lovely pic

To my eyes they look about half a stop under exposed causing loss of shadow detail- good saturation though.

Yes, they probably could have used + 1/2 or more stop. The chessboard thing was not what I was originally trying to see if anyone else saw, it was more the mirror effect.
