Can I install my new Epson 3800 in my basement darkroom?

I have a nice darkrom, and I have a very large counter where my two enlargers are. There is enough room for my Epson 3800 printer there. My only concern is basements are typically humid, and I know of someone who has used an Epson printer in the past that was affected by the humidity and had paper jamming up in the printer. I guess I could run a dehumidifier most of the time. The reason I bring this up is where I really would like to put it, my daughter is there some of the day (my den/study with my new I-MAC) and I know she will break something. I can transfer the files from my I-MAC to my Powerbook G4 and use the Powerbook to print in my darkroom space.

What part of the house do most of you use your printers, and how many of you have used space in your darkroom for a printer?

Yes, I was thinking along the lines of keeping my paper somewhere else in the house, and when I need to use it, bring it down to the printer. This is what I do anyway with my fiber paper for my darkroom wet prints anyway. So I know the issue of humidity quite well. I guess I just want to know how some humidity affects the hardware itself. My basement is not a dark dingy place but nicely finished, and the darkroom itself is a fully dedicated work area out of reach of my 5 year old daughter. The only issue here is I am using a new MAC (24") and I would like to work on it alot. I can then use the Powerbook G4 to transfer the files to the new printer.
