Can I lubricate my Industar?

I just bought an Industar-61 at the bay but found the focusing ring is very stiff. Could anybody tell me what can I do to make it smoother? Can I lube the lens?

The I-61 is one of the easiest FSU lenses to lubricate (other than the I-22). But pay heed to the instructions about the set screws. If the screw is removed all the way it's a dog and pong show to put them back. And make sure you have the proper size screwdriver with a square tip.

I did it as a fun project (on somebody else's industar hehe) without any instructions. It turned out easy and the result was pleasing.
Count on lots of wasted paper towels.
