Hello.
I,m a new owner of a ZM.
I found a voightlander 28 mm L mount second hand lens. I would like to know if I can use, mount, this lens without problems and if the frames of the viewfinder are showned. I bought a 50mm as well and I think that with it I will have not problems, but I have any doubts with the 28 mm. Perhaphs it is to much wide.
Regards. friends

No problem. You'll need a 28mm screw-to-M adapter ring; that's all. There are 3 rings, one calling up 28/90 (28/85 on the ZI), one calling up 50/75 (50 only on the ZI) and one calling up 35/135 (35 only on the ZI, plus, as far as I recall, 24 on the M8).

Cheers,

R.

Excuse me friends , but there is something that I don,t understand.
My camera is zm(silver edition, pretty) When I read a add writing, for example,
Voightlander lens Nokton 35 mm leica M..........
What do I supose? Does it have mounted the ring addapted to my camera or I have to ask for a exclusive ring 35/135.
Ussually, all the classifields only say, M mount, not 35/135, 28/90....
I thought that M mount is perfect for my ZM.
Greetins.
Sorry for my bad english. I,m spanish.

Fernandez -

If the lens says M mount in the description - no adapter is needed. The 35mm you mention above, will be fine on your Ikon.

If the lens says LTM or Screwmount or M39 in the description, then an adapter is needed. The adapters are specific to the set of framelines you wish to have come up when the lens is mounted. In the case of the 28mm Voightlander you mentioned - you would need an LTM-M mount adapter for the 28/90 framelines.

I hope that helps clarify. Cheers.

M-mount will mount fine without an adapter. L-mount, or LTM (for Leica Thread Mount) will mount fine, too, and will focus, but will need an adapter.

The frame lines for lenses are called up in pairs mentioned above. There are three different types of LTM adapters, one for each pair. Get the right one for any LTM lens and it will work fine, calling up the correct frame lines.

Also, the adapters can be swapped between lenses and have absolutely no effect on optical quality as long as you get good ones (original Leica or Voigtlander). They are just a thread adapter - on one side the screw for the screwmount L39 lens, on the other side the M bayonet.
