Yesterday I sold for cheap large zoom I didn't use - to clean up room. Buyer happily grabbed it without trying and waved me bye-bye. Few hours later he calls me and tells he can not mount it on Pentax K-5 - note, it's K-mount lens, labelled P/K, have used it on film bodies. From his words I get impression lens doesn't set into DSLR mount, but no clear description.

Wanted to ask around if it's possible for P/K legacy lenses to have excessively long aperture lever on back of lens - long enough not to mount on DSLR? Well, right now I'm staring at web pictures to understand if K-5 has aperture readout lever in mount like film bodies - and while mount itself is same, inner configuration seems to differ from film bodies (two extra contacts in addition to contacts in mount).

I've read some lenses can not be used except with locked up mirror, but never have read about mounting difficulties. Anyone, anything?

Do you mean "screen" by aperture set lever?
