My Red Dot Glows For You
Thanks to all of you, but there is something like an aura over the young mans shirt and if you could look at the 100% magnification in the tif-file you would see a black line boarder following the white shirt as drawn by charcoal. Never seen this before. It is definitly no Leica-glow.
You're right, this is not the "Leica glow". Some people see bright lights at night and immediately think "UFO", when it's really just Uncle Sven playing with his remote-controlled helicopter
It looks like your lens has a bit of fog. The highlights give you that, emm..."glow"-like effect when at least one of the elements has developed some haze/fog. Just have it CLA'd; I'd bet that your aperture blades have a little bit of oil too.

I think this is not something about lens at all, It is the problem of the digital.
Please look at the Mr.Kabuki hand.

Oh ampguy! That`s the solution! There´s only a small problem - money for a new lens. And the fact that, as I´v been told by a Leica-ingeneer today, the sensor of the RD1 would have a lot of problems with aspheric Leica lenses!
O.K. let`s get serious. Is there any RD1 user outside, who has notiv´ced the same issue?
Cheers
George
So if you know the answer, why are you bothering to ask, and being rude about it at that?

Please forgive me but I´v forgotten the smiley! No attacks from me!
And I´m not so wise to know the answer in advance.
The lens is pristine and thats the fact why I´v been surprised about this obiously digital phaenomena.
Sorry when I have bothered you!

To all of you: this is no bashing the RD1 or Leica lenses, no trolling, and no bothering anyone of you.
I love my RD1, I love my Leica lenses and I love this community!
I´m just a simpleminded old fart who is used to film photography and can hardly become familiar to the digital post processing.
Please forgive me this thread!

So you don't shoot raw right? Never mind, just shoot jpeg at -1EV when you get contrasty subjects. Or course your pic will be too dark out of the camera but a simple tool like iCorrect can do marvels rather easily....I´m just a simpleminded old fart who is used to film photography and can hardly become familiar to the digital post processing...
BTW i'm an old fart as well, been using my 35/2 IV for 3 decades on Leica Ms and i still get excellent results with it on the R-D1. Don't shoot much jpegs i'm afraid but i used to do it in my digital youth
