You may have noticed I'm looking to buy a couple M to LTM adapters for my R2. See:

http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3560

I bought a Canon LTM 35/1.8 and an adapter that was supposed to work with it. Initally, it wouldn't work at all until I realized it was really two pieces (Duh . . .) (see attached pix) and separated them.

Anyone have any idea what the one with the rubber surround might be? Looks for all the world like a spacer but what do I know?

BTW, please advise if these pix look OK on your system. Sized to 800 pixels horizontal at 72DPI and saved with level 3 JPG compression.

TIA for facts and/or interesting conjecture. 😉 /ScottGee1

Scott, this looks like a homemade mount to go onto a camera or instrument and allow the LTM lens to be used with "whatever it was". I find homemade adapters like that all the time in the old labs, a common one allows 39mm thread mount enlarger lenses to be used on view cameras and other devices. Just a guess.

Sounds like a good guess!

It's certainly useless with an R2 and likely to go back from whence it came. 🙄

Thanks!/ScottGee1
