Canon LTM Canon 25mm F3.5!

Canon M39 M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
How can you be done without either the 28/2.8 or the 28/3.5 and without the 50/1.5 sonnar??? 😀

Hey Ari,
I also prefer the 25mm Canon, I too sold-off my 25mm CV Snapshot Skopar. It was a bit too "Clinical" for my tastes. The Canon has lower contrast, more of a "retro" look that I prefer, and is plenty sharp for my uses at all apertures.

I am eventually going to find a black 28mm F3.5 Canon, and probably a 50mm F1.5, too.

Until I read this post right now, I remember I bought the Canon 19mm LTM few months ago but still sit on the shelf. Right now I won the 19mm, 50/1.5, 50/1.2(x2); and in the past had own 25/3.5, 28/2.8, 28/3.5, 35/2.8, 35/2, 50/1.4, 100/3.5 which have all been sold. All are very good lens !

Hi Conrad,
I bought your 25mm Viewfinder, and am putting it to good use. Used it quite a bit last weekend on VT.

yup

yup

I'd trade all of those lenses for a clean 28/2.8. I just shot a roll of UC100 through mine yesterday. Can't wait for the results.

The Canon 25 is a bit sensitive to flare - but this is also an extreme situation. Ginza in Tokyo, early morning sun. It is very sharp though - and based on just a couple of rolls, seems to have less edge-fall off than the Nikkor 25f4.

Ari, it is more than 50 years old - and probably some haze. The shot from the Ginza was pretty extreme - most lenses would have had problems.
I have only had a chance to shoot some 4-5 rolls with it so far - will try it out more. Vancouver is right now giving me a nice flat grey light (North West gloom) and that should help cutting down on the flare too.

This is a more typical shot with the 25f3.5. Flat, overcast light. This is my "test root" - strategically located at one of Vancouvers beaches. I think there are more than 140 shots of it on our Flickr stream (just use the tag "test root" - and be bored). I try every lens/camera/film combination on it. Dont really know why, except that started it a couple of years ago - and it gives me an excuse for a walk on the beach!

My friend Tony decided that having to "wear" a small compact Toyota was too much trouble - so he got this one instead, a 1997 Lincoln Continental Town Car - Cartier edition. Like driving your living room sofe - with the added benefit of having said sofe with built in heat!
Canon L1 and Canon 25f3.5, Legacy Pro 400 in Adox MQ for 8 min.

Geez, three of my favorite things. A Canon L1, the Canon 25mm lens, and an old Town Car. Not bad Tom.
