Hello,
I have a Canon 35/2 in need of a lens cap...any generic one will do. I think I saw somewhere that the correct size to order was 42mm but now I can't find that site anymore. I can only find that the filter size is 40mm. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Marc

the filter size is 40mm, that's correct.
my lens came with a plastic canon cap that measures 42mm.(inside diameter)
i also found a walz metal screw in lens cap that is 40mm, same as a filter. it's kinda cool for a real feeling of security.

Backalley is correct. You can order generic 42mm slip-on hoods from B&H:

There are cheap Russian plastic slip-on caps
42mm (like for 1.5/50 Jupiter lens)
I bought 3 from sergiy2002nospam@yahoo.com
Also Schneider lens caps (large format lenses) are fine.
cheers, Frank
