My first roll with this lens. WOW. I love it. These were taken on Tri-X with a Bess R3M yesterday at the Printing & Book Arts Center in Rochester, NY, where the owner, Mitch Cohen, was selling me a small letterpress for my wife's birthday.

Lovely work and very nice subjects....nice bokeh that makes for a photo with a "vintage" feel, perfect for blk n wht`s

Your photos show the grand qualities of this sadly "underrated" lens - I have one on my Canon 7s and I love it! 😀

Happy Shooting!

Thank you! Plenty of visual stimulation in a place like that, especially if, like me, and like everyone else on this board, you like obsolete technology.

I was using a hood from Camera Quest, by the way, and mostly shooting wide open, or stopped down to f/4 at most.

The only thing I dislike about this lens is the infinity lock. I honestly don't understand why these things every surfaced--they seem almost entirely useless.

The infinity lock reduces stress on the brass anti-rotation rails in the focusing helical. You use it to apply the torque taking the lens on and off the camera.

Glue a bit of styrene or wood in the catch if you want to disable it. (Please don't remove the button, it cost me over $30 to get one for my 35/1.8!)
